On April 19, 2022, Farmind President and CEO, Tatsuo Horiuchi delivered a speech at the 394th Food Management Forum hosted by The Japan Food Journal in Hotel New Otani Tokyo.
Since its establishment in 1981, the Food Management Forum has been operated as a forum for CEO and executives of companies and organizations in food and related industries nationwide to exchange information and opinions on policies in the food industry and corporate management issues through seminars and workshops.
In the speech entitled "The Ideal Fruits and Vegetables Distribution and Functions, and Changing Ways of Production", Farmind introduced its corporate profile and the comprehensive fruits and vegetables distribution platform that Farmind group constructed, as well as the expansion of the agricultural production business and affinity for SDGs. After mentioning the current situation and future issues facing Japanese agriculture, Farmind explained the new business that Farmind and the National Federation of Agricultural Cooperatives are working together to support domestic agricultural production and contribute to the stable supply of high-quality fruits and vegetables.
Participants expressed interests in the future development plan of the agricultural production, the efforts to reducing food losses, and recommendations to the government, and exchanged opinions.
Based on Farmind’s corporate philosophy of "linking farmers with consumers", Farmind will continue to strengthen the supply system of fruits and vegetables in Japan and overseas and improve the quality through its nationwide cold chains, deliver fresh and delicious fruits and vegetables from farms to consumers, and contribute to the development of domestic and overseas fruits and vegetables distribution from various perspectives.
