21 Members Including the Undersecretary of the Philippine Department of Agriculture Visit Farmind Aomi Center

Farmind Corporation, a comprehensive fresh produce distribution company that operates a nationwide cold chain, and e-Supportlink Corporation, which engages in the construction and operation of fresh produce distribution systems and producer support businesses, welcomed a visit from the Philippine Department of Agriculture at the Farmind Aomi Center on March 25, 2025. The Philippine Department of Agriculture, equivalent to Japan's Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, visited the Aomi Center with the aim of deepening their understanding of Japan's cold chain network. The delegation included Undersecretary Genevieve B. Guevara, Assistant Secretary for Agribusiness Daniel Atayde, Agricultural Attaché Aleli Maghirang from the Philippine Embassy in Japan, and a total of 21 members responsible for agribusiness marketing, logistics, and sales promotion.

During this visit, explanations were provided on the e-Supportlink system, which offers agricultural distribution systems within Japan, and Farmind's information system covering everything from the import to the sale of fresh produce. Additionally, they observed the facilities for ripening processing (Muro), vegetable sorting, and the automatic packaging machine for cherry tomatoes at the Aomi Center.

Undersecretary Guevara, who received explanations on Farmind's unique banana ripening processing technology and automated packing, commented on the visit, "I was impressed by the advanced ripening processing technology and the efficiency of the mechanized packing operations. It was a great opportunity to learn that the distribution of fresh produce produced in the Philippines in Japan is supported by such high-level technology."

Many of the bananas imported to Japan are from the Philippines, making the Philippines one of the key countries for Farmind and e-Supportlink, which are involved in banana distribution. Through hosting this visit, we aim to further strengthen the trust relationship with the Philippine Department of Agriculture and continue to enhance efforts to maintain quality and eliminate waste loss by utilizing the cold chain.

Farmind and e-Supportlink will continue to strive to improve the quality of fresh produce through the cold chain, deliver fresh and delicious produce from producers to consumers, and contribute to the development of fresh produce distribution.
