August 20, 2024, Tomoo Uchiyama, General Manager of All Japan Line Inc. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President: Makoto Oe; hereinafter "All Japan Line") in Farmind group, delivered a speech at a workshop held in Miyazaki Prefecture on efforts to build a sustainable fruit and vegetable flow.
This workshop was hosted by the “Miyazaki Agricultural Distribution Logistics DX Promotion Council” and was attended by about 80 people from businesses and government agencies involved in the production and distribution of agricultural products.
In his speech, he introduced the business of the Farmind Group, which encompasses all functions related to fruit and vegetable distribution, including production, shipping, IT, and marketing, centered on the cold chain that organically links Farmind's 14 fruit and vegetable centers in Japan and the nationwide logistics network of All Japan Line. The presentation included an overview of the Farmind Group's business, which encompasses all functions related to fruit and vegetable distribution, including production, shipping, IT and marketing. As specific initiatives, he explained that a delivery model that utilizes our fruit and vegetable center as a relay point and “integrated logistics” that improves loading rates and reduces costs by using imported fruit and vegetables, such as bananas, a major product of our group, as base cargo and mixing them with domestically produced fruit and vegetables, are effective solutions to overcome the “Can't-carry crisis” caused by the 2024 logistics problem and other problems. The presentation explained that “integrated logistics” is an effective solution for overcoming the “Can't Carry Crisis” caused by the 2024 logistics problem and other problems.
Based on the corporate philosophy of “connecting producers and consumers,” the Farmind Group will further strengthen its comprehensive fruit and vegetable distribution platform, which is centered on a cold chain centered on fruit and vegetable centers and a nationwide logistics network, with comprehensive functions and services that link upstream and downstream fruit and vegetable distribution. By doing so, we will protect the working environment of drivers, realize a rational, efficient, and sustainable logistics network, and provide logistics solutions to overcome the “Can't Carry Crisis”.
