●Three varieties with different features will be offered at suitable price to meet consumer's needs

It is said that there are approximately 300 varieties of strawberries, from which we decided on these three varieties to grow in the first year.

1. Aromatic varieties “Kaorino” for sale on daily price
With the thoughts of that 「Hope people of all ages can eat strawberries every day on season!」, We selected the “Kaorino” in order to supply strawberries stably on daily price. “Kaorino” is a varieties with strong sweetness, mild acidity, solid food texture and big size. The main feature is the excellent aroma. It has a unique, fresh, sweet aroma when eaten because it contains a lot of Linalool, a fresh, sweet, floral aroma. It is highly rated because of its best balance of sweetness and aroma. Furthermore, its firm pulp makes it easy to transport. We will strengthen the sales of “Kaorino” in eastern Japan from its cultivation in Ibaraki Prefecture which was used to be sold only in western Japan.
2. Slightly luxurious varieties “Royal Queen” and “Mikunoka” for gift use
Strawberries are in high demand for gift use and happy days. According to the voice of consumer “A little expensive, but I`d like to try it”, We determined to cultivate “Royal Queen” and “Mikunoka” which are a little bit expensive than others. “Royal Queen” has a balance of high sugar, acidity, strong aroma and juiciness. Also it looks gorgeous because of its bright red pulp. “Mikunoka” is a kind of strawberries likes sweet with a sweet flavor. Also has firm pulp makes it easy to transport and reduce waste on harvest same as “Kaorino”.

●Efforts of Zero Waste

Almost all of the harvest will be sold as fresh strawberry. We deliver our fruits under most fresh condition by using the nationwide cold chain of Farmind to reduce food lose. However, even if we cultivate carefully, those couldn’t be used as fresh strawberries because of blemishes, uneven color due to the sun exposure, also uneven shapes which occurred during its growth will still exist. We use these as processing food to reduce waste and aim to realize Zero Waste. The harvest will be separated to four level of quality standard as bellow.

【Standard】

♢ Fresh fruit① … almost all of the harvest will be sold to consumers.

♢ Fresh fruit② … those with well tase and not good looking will be sold for business use.

♢ Freeze processing … those have a certain size of pulp after cutting off inedible parts, such as blemishes, will be freeze processed in our factories. Furthermore, we can use those frozen strawberries for sauce.

♢ Powder puree … those not suitable for frozen strawberries will be processed to powder or puree for sweet use.
